SOAR Public Playtest V0.5 Release !
Hi hi hi!
I've been thinking about SOAR, and as I've run more of it, I've decided to tweak some things, leading up to this update, and I've changed some stuff I didn't think quite worked as is, as well as give some guidance on tone and how to reinforce it.
There's also some cool new art in there by Javiroque!
Changelog for V0.5
New version of SOAR, with some added art and some changes in Layout
-Added a “Core Tone Guidelines” to the start of the book, to help with the vibe SOAR is made for
-Changed Bleed and Hemorrhage, they were essentially just “damage +” and didn’t quite work with the low numbers in this game
-Split conditions into Positive and Negative conditions
-Added the Off Balance negative condition, to round stuff up
-Added Inspired and Block, and modified a number of things to use them, we’re gonna see how they feel.
-Did a big ol balance pass over most abilities and foes
-Mooks now just roll to hit, and deal static effects on hit, helps run them faster
-Foe “templates”, a little thing i’m willing to try for this version, depending on feedback I might change them.
And finally
-Changed the layout to have a black background and white text, bolded keywords in abilities, ideally this is the vibe i’m gonna keep for future versions.
